Maps have been replaced by GPS devices as the preferred navigation method for drivers. Today's GPS navigation devices can be easily installed out of the box, and most truck navigation systems are not difficult to use.
Who created GPS Navigation
The earliest GPS navigation was used by the US military as a handheld GPS unit (approximately the mid-1980s). It can display the user's location on an electronic map and includes simple navigation functions. In 1960, the US Navy put into service its truck navigation systems to aid in naval navigation. It wasn’t until the late 1980s that commercial GPS technology became a reality. The first portable GPS receiver developed for consumers was made by the electronic navigation company Magellan.
How to install GPS navigation in a car

- Take the truck navigation systems device out of the original box and find the manual. It is important to follow any specific guidelines given in the manufacturer's instructions to install the equipment. There should be 3 main parts. The GPS navigation is a small box with a screen on the front. The power cord should also be included in the adapter that plugs into the vehicle's cigarette lighter to turn on the machine. It should also include a bracket for mounting the device on your car.
- Place the GPS navigation screen into the holder.
- Next, install GPS navigation in your car. It is not recommended to install the device on a part of the windshield because it will distract you or block your view of the road. The safest place to install the GPS navigation is on the dashboard, in the center or far left of the driver's seat. For truck navigation systems, it’s better to install them on the right side of the driver.

- Turn the power button on. (plug the power cord to the cigarette lighter)
- Program the device. Tune the radio channel to the same frequency as the original onboard radio in the car. Most GPS devices will ask some basic setup questions the first time they are turned on. For example, you may be asked to provide information about the date, time, and address according to your location.
